Der Ruf des Insurrektionalismus ist nicht der beste. Jenseits der Szene gilt er vielen anderen Linken vor allem als wildes Abenteurertum, dessen Protagonist:innen es mehr um die eigene Radikalität geht als um das Verändern gesellschaftlicher Kräfteverhältnisse. In Bezug auf die Gegenwart mag etwas Wahres daran sein. Mit Blick auf die Vergangenheit wird aber die Geschichte übersehen, aus der diese anarchistische Strömung hervorgegangen ist. Die Entstehung des Insurrektionalismus ist tief verwoben mit Klassenkämpfen. Er ist ein Ergebnis der explosiven Stimmung in den Fabriken Italiens der 1970er Jahre und formuliert darauf aufbauend eine Kritik an den klassischen Formen des linksradikalen Betriebsaktivismus. Im Zentrum dieser Kritik steht die Ablehnung der Gewerkschaften inklusive des Anarchosyndikalismus als Befriedungsorgane des Klassenkrieges. Dieser verborgenen Quelle des Insurrektionalismus will sich der Vortrag nähern. So soll einerseits die Entstehung des Insurrektionalismus als Reaktion auf die Klassenkämpfe der 1970er Jahre dargelegt und andererseits seine Kritik am Anarchosyndikalismus skizziert werden. In einem dritten Schritt soll deren Aktualität für linksradikale Betriebsarbeit in der Gegenwart diskutiert werden.

Syndicalism and the insurrection
Admittedly, the reputation of insurrectionalism is not the best. Outside of its own subscene, it is seen by many leftists primarily as wild adventurism, with protagonists who are more concerned with performing their own radicalism and less with changing social power relations. There may be some truth in this with regard to its current exponents. However, this view completely ignores the historical context of its formation as a current within anarchism. The emergence of insurrectionalism is deeply interwoven with class struggles. It was formed on the basis of the explosive mood in Italian factories in the 1970s and, building on this, formulated a critique of the classic forms of radical left-wing factory activism. At the center of this critique is a resolute rejection of the trade unions, including anarcho-syndicalism, as organs of pacification in the class war. This lecture aims to approach this hidden source of insurrectionalism. First, we will explain the emergence of insurrectionalism as a reaction to the class struggles of the 1970s, followed by an outline of its critique of anarcho-syndicalism. We will also discuss its current-day relevance for radical left-wing factory work.
