The Open Lokal is a social meeting place for members and anyone curious to get to know us. Every Friday from 18:00 to 21:00 we open our doors at Grüntaler Str. 24 (Berlin-Wedding) Feel free to bring friends and colleagues! You’ll find warm food and cold drinks, space for conversations, exchange and collective organizing, as well as games, a small library and info materials. Whether you’re already a member and want to get more involved, or you simply want to stop by and see what FAU Berlin is all about – you’re in the right place. From casual chats about working conditions, to questions about union organizing, to just a relaxed evening: everything is welcome here. Sometimes there are working group meetings or events, sometimes people simply hang out. It’s a place for community, ideas and solidarity. Come by and be part of it!
On 21 November 2025, the Open Lokal will feature something special: our next Game Night! We’ll have a selection of board and card games ready, and of course snacks and drinks are provided. Come on your own or bring friends and your favorite games – we’re looking forward to a fun, relaxed evening together. As always, the Open Lokal starts at 18:00, which is perfect for arriving early, chatting and getting to know people.
At the same time – as every third Friday of the month – we offer workplace union counseling, open to everyone. You are warmly invited to our preventative first-contact counseling. Together we take a look at your situation at work so that you and your co-workers can build power and collective agency. We explain our union principles and help shift individual conflicts toward collective organizing. The counseling is preventative in the sense of supporting workers before everything escalates and effective union intervention becomes much more difficult. The counseling is open to everyone, including non-members. An appointment is required – please send your request by 19 November to: faub-beratung@fau.org
