Erich Mühsam, writer and anarcho-syndicalist, was one of the first victims of the Nazi regime. Arrested after the Reichstag fire in 1933, he was imprisoned, tortured, and murdered by the SS in the Oranienburg concentration camp on July 10, 1934. His death was staged as suicide.
