Erich Mühsam, writer and anarcho-syndicalist, was one of the first victims of the Nazi regime. Arrested after the Reichstag fire in 1933, he was imprisoned, tortured, and murdered by the SS in the Oranienburg concentration camp on July 10, 1934. His death was staged as suicide.

91 years later, Mühsam’s legacy remains urgent. In the face of rising far-right ideologies, we remember those who fought and died for a free, solidaristic society. Mühsam was not a martyr of parliamentarianism — he was a militant anarchist and member of the FAUD. His memory belongs to the workers’ movement.

Join the FAU Berlin on July 12 to honor Erich Mühsam and continue the struggle.
