Workshop on Feminist Political Strike

Published on Mar 21, 2021 Tags: , , , , ,
Strikes have always been a union’s method to fight for the change that we really need to happen. And especially from a feminist working class perspective, there are some things that really need to change: the Gender-pay-gap, sexism and racism in the work place and in German bureaucracy, unpaid and unseen care work and work in the households, marginalization and illegalization of migrant workers, unfair and unequal distribution of social benefits and health protection - the list goes on.

Yet, analyzing our problems is not enough.
We have to solve them! Therefore, we need a feminist strike movement. Over the next year, we want to build the necessary connections, find good tactics and long-term strategies, and put them into action. We want to create the ressources we need to put up a strong fight.
We have the power to change the system our way.
Let's make a feminist strike happen in March 2022!

Join our workshop on political strike!

We will talk and discuss about:

Why it is important to strike? How can striking solve our problems?
What is the current legal situation on strike in general and political strike in particular in Germany?
What could a feminist political strike look like? What could be different strategies, to get our demands (e.g. an 4 h - working day) fullfilled?

When: Sunday 28th of March, 3-6pm
Where: Online in a BigBlueButton Room, please write to faub-frauenkampftag@fau.org to get the details!
