"We want us alive!" - we support the network against feminicide
That is why we support the network against feminicide and its campaign "We want us alive!
Feminicides are probably the most extreme expression of complex patriarchal violence, which is supported by state action and capitalist exploitation and makes the lives of FLINTA* extra precarious.
Poor or no pay for reproductive work and the criminalization of sex work are two examples in this regard that demonstrate that for many people, working and living conditions can be significantly worse because they are (or are not) of a particular gender. Precarious living situations, financial dependence, invisible or criminalized work - all these are not only in themselves part of patriarchy - all these factors also increase the risk of being affected by violence and hate crimes against one's own gender identity read as female - i.e. feminicide.
As a union, we are clear: patriarchy and exploitation cannot be viewed separately. Class struggle must be feminist - and feminism must be class struggle!
We have to organize against exploitation, repression and violence - in the FAU Berlin for example in the AG 8.März and the AG Sexarbeit - but also beyond. That's why we support the network against feminicide and its campaign "We want us alive!
