[Mall of Shame] PAYDAY! Court Confirms Default Judgment

Published on Aug 05, 2015 Tags: ,
Today, on August 5, FAU Berlin, represented by its lawyers, achieved another, crucial victory in court in the scandalous case of workers’ exploitation by the “Mall of Shame”. In the first hearings to actually take place, the Berlin labour court confirmed the default judgment from the conciliation proceedings on April 4, 2015 by which the dubious letter-box company openmallmaster GmbH has been sentenced to pay the withheld wages. While the Mall of Berlin floods the city with advertising in order to lure clients into the shopping shrine, the labour union slogan “Mall of Shame – Pay the Workers!” has now been endorsed by the labour court.
