Eat your boss: Wrongful termination brunch

Published on May 08, 2022 Tags: , ,
Bosses fire us for all kinds of reasons: because they feel like it, or, for example, because we have become an inconvenience for them. They especially like to fire workers who go on strike, resorting to tactics such as mass terminations. Many terminations, especially mass terminations, often do not meet the legal requirements. Bosses rely on the fact that we can't defend ourselves legally because we lack the time, knowledge, energy, money or self-confidence. And sadly enough, they are often right. Although sadly this is sometimes the case, we don't have to let it be this way.

It's not that difficult to file a lawsuit against wrongful termination. We want to sit down with you to practice how to file one ourselves without needing an expensive lawyer. Often enough, the chances of success are not that bad. And even if you can't (or don't want to) be reinstated, you might still get a juicy severance pay!

On Sunday 15 May, we will meet at 12 in the Infoladen (Schererstr. 8, in the Basta office). We will give you an overview of how a lawsuit against wrongful termination works, what deadlines you need to be aware of, and what documents you will need. Then we will practice how to actually file such a lawsuit. Last but not least: To make this annoying and exhausting bureaucratic work a bit more pleasant, we will have a tasty brunch, yay! And of course we want to talk about our experiences with getting fired, how we can defend ourselves against terminations, in what context a lawsuit against wrongful termination can be useful, what other ideas we have - and so on.

If you have any questions, just ask: faub496[a]fau.org. We look forward to seeing you!
