#Bezahlt_Vladimir: Rally at City Aktiv GmbH
Getting owed wages and having cake and coffee
City Aktiv GmbH still refuses to pay our colleague Vladimir, although they – under unreasonable conditions – made profit of him and his colleagues! Vladimir is a construction worker and member of FAU Dresden. In 2014, in consequence of an offer from City Aktiv GmbH, he came to Germany in order to earn some money for some months for himself and his family.
He was obliged to live in an overcrowded and dilapidated apartment, for which the boss even made him pay rent. He worked hard. But only a small amount of his work was paid. A case that let FAU Berlin quickly think of Mall of Shame. Thus we do support FAU Dresden and our comrade this weekend in their demands.
Each year, hundreds of construction workers share the same fate as Vladimir, after being lured from other European countries to Germany. Increasingly, FAU deals with such cases; as in the case of the workers from Mall of Shame which is known in all the country, as well as in the case of 14 Polish colleagues that currently fight along with FAU Freiburg in court for owed wages, as eventually the case of Vladimir. The media and other labour unions all-too often report of the exploitation of migrant workers in the restaurant, construction and care industries. Our response is: Don’t accept! Organize! Fight! Solidarity!
City Aktiv, Pay Vladimir Already!
