A Solidarity Statement from FAU Berlin to the Berlin Sex Workers
FAU Berlin extends our solidarity to the following efforts and struggles by Berlin sex workers, to:
> Fight for full decriminalization of your work;
> Create peer-based solidarity and support networks;
> Organize against exploitative labor conditions;
> Promote safer work environments;
> Agitate against German legislation (the 100 page Prostitutionsschutzgesetz), that forces sex workers to carry identification, furthering surveillance of sex workers, alienating them from the rest of the working class, and putting migrant workers at special risk of deportation.
As well as standing with the rights of Berlin sex workers on principle, we pledge to provide practical support—the time and energy of interested, individual FAU members—to your principled efforts at emancipation and self-organization. And, we look forward to creating closer bonds between FAU Berlin and Berlin sex workers in the future. Because—An Injury to One is an Injury to All!
